Training fees are currently $550/month plus birds.
Bird use will be dependent on what you want to accomplish with your dog and what level they are working at.
Ducks, chuckars and pigeons are the most common birds we use for training. It is dependent on whether your dog is being trained for waterfowl, upland or both.
Training is for a minimum of one month. We recommend three to four months to build a strong foundation. One that will last a lifetime with a little work on the owner/handler's part.
A signed contract is required for all dogs that are dropped off to be trained at PRG.
Owners are asked to leave their dogs for a minimum of three weeks before coming back to see their progress. This is for the benefit of the dog. This allows them to begin a daily training routine and learn that they have a purpose, a job and that they go to work each day. Anything less than three weeks can cause them to digress in their training. The dogs are in school and need to remain focused on their work. After the three week period the owners are welcome to come and see where we are at in the training process with their dogs. This also can be an opportunity for the owners to begin to learn how to use the tools we have Taught the dog.There is no need for owners to be concerned about the bonding between them or any family member and their dogs during the training process. Their dogs will always recognize them when they see them. What you should notice is an overall better behaved dog when you visit or train with your dog.

A hunting companion that is a real joy to be with in the field or around the house. We can also train your dog to the highest levels in the hunt test organizations like the AKC, APLA, UKC. We can put titles such as Master Hunter,Hunter Retriever Champion or 4X Grand Master Pointing Retriever titles on your dogs. If you are motivated and have a strong desire to learn we can work with owners that want to try to learn how to train their dogs. It is a challenge but can be very rewarding.
