It is with the deepest regret and the highest respect that we announce the loss of Bar None's Snake River Otter "Otter". What a dog! He came into the world with a bang and went out the same way. He made a difference for the breed and touched people in a unique way that have met him or have seen him run. He had a presence about him. He has made many new pup owners happy. Never has any animal had more of an effect on me or taught me more about dogs in my life. He always made me look good even when I was the weak link. I am one of the luckiest men in the world that he shared his life with me!

We are in the processof compiling photos of the Big Dog to share with those of you that are interested. We will also be writing about some of the experiences we were privilaged to have with him.

We would love to hear from you if you have bred to him or have any of his pups. Experiences you have had and photos you might have of your Otter dog's would be nice.

We believe Otter is and has been the benchmark for stud dog pointing labs. He has an excellent pedigree with some of the best field trial dogs that have run in events in the U.S. and Canada. He is new blood not related to any of the pointing labs out there even today. We desperately need new blood to improve the breed.

Otter has all the traits we look for in the animals we want in our kennel and what we believe will improve the breed. Intelligence, drive, exceptional marking, insanely birdie, very strong pointing upland. He is also affectionate. He has been extremely successful at running events in the AKC, APLA, HRC achieving the highest levels attainable. Otter is also set apart from the rest of the pack by not only the MH and 4XGMPR's titles but being qualified all age and running in all age field trials. He is also a HRCH in the HRC. We are not aware of any other dog in the country that have accomplished what he has, particularly pointing labs.

Otter consistently does what other kennels are trying to achieve with their stud dogs. Consistently produces very nice pups with many different breeding females. Yet another trait that sets him apart. There are some nice dogs out there but few if any of them produce consistently like Otter does. His offspring can be seen all over the country successfully achieving titles and ribbons at the highest levels. They are also in the fields all over America hunting both waterfowl and upland.

One of the most attractive advantage Otter has is that he is new blood for pointing labs. He is not related to or out of the typical or more common pointing lab bloodlines. Just what a discriminating breeder that wants to advance their breeding program in a new and strong direction needs. Essentially he is a field trial dog that has many talents including strong pointing genetics.

Take a look at Otter's pedigree and you will see one of the many reasons there is a difference in his pups that can be seen. We also have personally trained several of his pups for clients and have seen some really nice dogs.

Otter's stud fee is currently $1500. Several documents must be sent before a breeding a female. A copy of the females pedigree, and a signed breeding contract. We also require a progesterone or other accurate hormone level test so that when the female is at our kennel their ready to be bred and conceive. The female must be ready to be bred when they arrive at our kennel. We want to get your dog bred and back home a soon as they are bred. This should minimize any stress to your female as well. We will send a copy of the breeding contract if you decide that Otter is the right dog to breed to your female. We always reserve the right to take pick of the litter as opposed to a stud fee for breeding your dog to Otter.

We can also currently can provide frozen semen for AI's. Costs associated with that are the responsibility of the breeder.
