We are full time professional trainers of dogs, trainers and handlers. We are also breeders of high quality performance pointing lab pups and started dogs. Were are located in the Rocky Mountain West in Fort Collins, Colorado.

As mentioned we are full time professional trainers. We have significant experience with proven results training hunting, hunt test, competitive shoot, and companion dogs and their handlers. That includes the traditional continental pointing breeds, retrievers, flushers and pointing labs. While we specialize in PL's we have significant experience producing excellent results with the other dogs mentioned. In fact, all the photos on the web site are of dogs we have trained or are training currently. The majority of trainers specialize in one breed or type of dog. At PRG with have the expertise and experience to take retrievers, flushers, and pointing dogs to he highest levels desired by our clients.

We offer breeding services from some of the very best bred quality animals in the country. All of our breeding animals have excellent to outstanding pedigrees. All of them are proven performers both in the field hunting and consistently come home with ribbons at hunt tests. We believe the differences will become obvious when you start looking at our animal's background, pedigrees and testimonials regarding trained dogs, pups and started dog from their owners.

Our philosophy and approach to training is much more than just teaching dogs concepts that allows them to become well mannered companions, highly effective hunters, and bring home titles and ribbons from events. Actually, we are in the animal/owner relationship business as much as anything. We teach people how to develop a productive working relationship with their dogs. A relationship of mutual respect and teamwork. We focus on how to communicate effectively with animals the way they do at their level. We teach people how to think and communicate like a dog. This is the key and often the missing link in the training and general relationships people have with their dogs. It is also the key to producing superb high performing dogs in the field. We teach owners how to instill and develop a healthy work ethic in their dog. We teach how to create a success cycle by building confidence. Confidence in the dog to do the work asked of them and confidence in the trainer or handler to lead the team. We provide training that builds teams and as a result allows owners and their dogs to have the type of experiences together that can provide great memories for a lifetime. After all that is really why we have dogs in the first place. The experiences they can provide and we can share with them. Our training philosophy is one of several things that makes PRG different from other trainers and kennels. For more information about training take a peek at our training page. We also will work with you in evaluating your dog for training. Click on the link for more information about this service.

We have a great deal of respect for these animals. Because of this we have a different philosophy regarding breeding than most kennels. A philosophy that we believe that benefits the type of dogs we produce, the breed and ultimately owners of PRG dogs. Our primary goal is simple. To produce a better dog. One that has an pedigree second to none. One that has all the innate traits and abilities to make a superb hunting dog, competitive dog and outstanding companion. We feel that only emphasizing one trait of many that a good pointing lab, or any dog for that matter, has to offer is not the direction to go for us. Just as we wont breed just for color, we wont produce a dog with just enough qualities ( pointing ) to make a sell. One of the most desirable reasons to own a PL in our opinion is the unmatched versatility of the retrieving and pointing abilities. We would like to mention there are some very nice traditional pointing dogs out there. We own them ourselves and train them for clients. Just as there are misconceptions about PL's, there are also some misconceptions about pointers.

Any kennel can make claims about their dogs. All of our dogs have excellent pedigrees. We invite you to compare them to what other kennels offer. Of special interest take a look at the Our Competitors Dogs page. We think you will agree, you will see a difference. Pedigrees are just the starting point. All of our stud dogs and breeding females are hunted and have titles in several hunt test organizations. The AKC , HRC, and APLA being just a few of them. We refuse to put a CP or JH title on our females and just start cranking out the pups. We expect much more from our dogs because they are capable of much more. 2X GMPR Snake River Delta SH and SR HRC APR OD's Cobra Jet Sally are two examples of this. We are fortunate in that we have both the Sire and Dam of our puppies on site. You can come and see them as well as watch them work in many cases.

We have two excellent Stud dogs that are proven performers. Otter has a excellent reputation for consistently producing very nice dogs. His pups have achieved titles at the highest levels in virtually all hunt test organizations in many locations through out the country. His pedigree is very strong with predominately field trial dogs. Some of them known to be some of the best field trail dogs to run in the field. Jesse is developing quite a reputation as well. He produces strong pointers with field trial level marking. With both Otter and Jesse there isn't the compromise that many breeders must except in their dog's ability regarding marking and pointing well. You don't have to take the risk of a stud dog that has not proven themselves as producers. The results are reasonably predictable with a PRG stud dog.

We have our latest addition, Big Man On Deck, that is doing quite well in training and running hunt tests. He is out of our dogs Jesse and Delta. Keep an eye on this dog. He is on a roll and is impressive to watch. He will be breeding age in October and already has his eyes CERF'd clear. Hips will be certified in October. Big man is a dog with a purpose. He has a huge motor and his attitude is that he will take out an objective like a small nuclear device!

We are also evaluating another stud dog with a very strong field trial background. He potentially will bring strong and needed new blood into the Pointing Lab world. Duke is just a youngster of eight months old. We put him on birds the day after he came to us. He locked up very nicely on birds and it was the first time he has seen them. As with Otter, Duke is not related to all the typical PL bloodlines. He has nine FC/AFC's in the first three generations alone. Every Sire in his pedigree is an FC/AFC dog. We are looking for dogs that will set the benchmark for PL's in the future. To move forward in improving the breed and raise the bar. As mentioned before we feel everyone will benefit from this. The dogs we produce, the breed in general and especially those that own and get to spend time with these dogs in the field.

Another advantage PRG has is that we keep dogs from our breeding's for started dogs and for our breeding process. We produce and offer what we would own ourselves. In many cases you can see pups from a previous litter. We have a very good understanding of what our dogs produce because in several cases we have personally trained several generations in their pedigree. In fact in the fall Kansas test you could see three generations all perform and bring home CP APR and GMPR ribbons. We have spent the past ten years developing the bloodlines and dogs we have to offer. We are producing high quality performance animals that have a lot of drive, are very birdie, mark excellent, are trainable, love water, are strong pointing dogs and will excel at most any job you have for them to accomplish. There is more information about our dogs, started dogs and puppies in the web navigation bar.

One of the purposes of our web site is to try and help you deal with what can seem like a gauntlet of information regarding finding a pup, dog or pro trainer to meet your needs. We will provide you with the essential information about our training, pups, started dogs, and stud dogs. There is a FAQ page you can access through the training page that may be helpful for people interested in training. We take pride in our kennel and what we have to offer our clients. We have excellent references. Thank you for visiting PRG's web site and happy surfing.
